TRANSACTIONAL LETTERS 

A transaction letter is kind of business letter used for asking or giving information about a specific situacion like a business, complain, etc. 

SIX STEPS WHEN WRITING A TRANSACTIONAL LETTER

1. GET OFF TO A GOOD START
You have to be clear about the following questions
- Who you are writing to
- What is the reason you are writing for
- What you are writing about
2. PLANNING
A transactional letter can not be so long, so we should spend some time in order to plane it.
Please, follow these advices when planning:
a) The question – It gives you details about who you are writing to and why besides It  helps you decide what kind of writing you could use: formal or informal.
b) The original letter or email - It helps you about the subject of the letter but try to use your own words.
c) The handwritten notes - It is so useful in order to give specific details about your letter. 
3. DECIDING ON PARAGRAPHS
You must decide what you are going to write in each paragraph. Generally a transactional letter has four or more paragraphs:
  1. A very short opening paragraph Normally with a sentence – thanking the other person for his or her letter or email and adding any other appropriate comments.  
  2. The first main paragraph - It develops the idea of your letter; use your notes!
  3. The second main paragraph - Here you can give extra information about the topic of the letter
  4. The ending - It is normally short, please try to use the usual ways of ending.
4. USING YOUR OWN WORDS
When so, you demonstrate your knowledge about the topic you are writing about.
5. CHOOSING THE RIGHT STYLE
You must besure that you use the appropriate style.
It depends of the addressee
6. CHECK AND CORRECT
Before sending it, please check it often as needed, specially in topics you usually have errors. 

MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WHEN WRITING A TRANSACTIONAL LETTER.
I think everything has been said, but I would say that some things you must take into account could be:
  • Planning 
  • Be sure about the information you are going to write about
  • Choose the right style.
  • Use an appropriate language 
  • Use common expresions for that kind of letter
  • Check it after finishing it in order to find error or mistakes.
